Top Tips for Travelling With Your Cat

It's coming around to that time of year again where many families like to take a nice relaxing break and head away for a few days.
Whilst many may choose to put their pet in a boarding cattery or kennel, others decide to bring their pet with them on the trip.
Here are a few tips on how to prepare:
If your cat is not an avid traveller or is not used to being in a cat carrier cage, start preparing them ASAP! Start by putting a blanket in the carrier and encouraging the cat to sleep in it at home. They will see it as a less frightening experience. Bring them on short car journeys to begin with, increasing duration as they become more comfortable.
Make sure your cat has been microchipped and registered and all contact information is up to date and correct.
Make sure your cats worming, flea treatment and vaccinations are up to date as some parasites and diseases can be more common in different parts of the country.

If your pet is on any long-term medication, make sure you have enough for the duration of the trip.
Please remember to check ahead with where you are staying to make sure it is pet friendly.
Hopefully these tips will make the experience a tad easier and you will hopefully have a memorable experience... for all the right reasons!
