Have you ever experienced the frustration of discovering that your dog has ripped open their toy and now you have stuffing bunnies all over the house or yard? The mess the stuffing makes is annoying, but it can also be dangerous if your dog ingests it or possibly eats the plastic squeaker found in many fluffy toys.

Yuck! Who wants to clean this up?

I have seen stuffing free toys before, but I wasn’t really sure if they would hold my dog’s interest. These flat, soft toys aren’t suitable for throwing and without the squeak I thought my dog wouldn’t be more interested in it than she is in socks (although she does love to steal socks…).

I purchased the Animates Furry Friend, which is part of their squeak-free, snuggling range of dog toys. This toy was designed to look like a fluffy little bunny without any stuffing in the body. The head has a small amount of stuffing. It features stitched eyes and nose so there is no danger or your dog ingesting small pieces.

Overall Recommendation:
Happiness is a new toy, at least according to my dog who has claimed her flat little bunny as her new favourite toy. I think she is really enjoying the change to a different toy with a different texture- flat and floppy as opposed to fluffy and squeaky.

While it is tempting to use this as a tug toy, I doubt that it will hold up to that style of play. It’s more of a peaceful snuggle toy and my dog seems to really enjoy bringing it into her bed with her.

As a side note, we don’t live in the country and we don’t have any small pets like rabbits or guinea pigs. If you do, I would maybe choose a less realistic looking bunny toy to make sure that your dog does not get confused between their toy and a live animal.

If you are looking for a different style of toy without the potential for fluffy mess or squeaker ingestion, then this style of flat toy will be a welcome addition to your dog’s toy box.

Rocket would love this toy, only he would think it's for tug-a-war and take to it with gusto.
