App Review

I came across this app whilst having a rummage through the Apple app store. I was curious to see what kind of apps were out there for pet owners, and I certainly was not disappointed with my find! It is called the Pet Symptom Checker by PetMD and is available for FREE!

I really cannot credit this app enough for its unique format, interactive menu, amazing and reliable information and overall user friendliness.

From the start menu, it gives you the choice to check symptoms for a dog or cat. You then move on to the area of the body that is being affected and choose the actual symptoms that are being exhibited, and voila!, with a touch of the screen, the app gives suggestions of what may be wrong with your pet.

Although the answers given may be quite accurate as to what is wrong with your pet, it is a reference guide only and should not take place over actual veterinary medical attention. As it states on the app, it is taking the first step in diagnosing your pet, the next step being a veterinary consultation. However, in saying this, it is a great informative piece of equipment for us inquisitive pet owners and I think will really go a long way in educating pet owners.
