Sometimes we cannot go on holidays and board our pets for several reasons.

I cannot leave my older dog anymore as he does not do well being boarded, and so in order to go on a holiday I would have to find pet friendly places to stay.


If you are traveling in Western Australia, the following list includes some are some places you could take your furry friends to join you on a holiday.

MyShak in Silver Sands, near Mandurah.

This property was awarded Stayz W.A Pet Friendly Property of the year for 2012.


The location is great too with the beautiful Silver Sands beach just around the corner and plenty of amenities nearby.

Another option which is Australia wide is the Holidaying with Dogs website. They have created the Five Paw Dog Friendly Accommodation Awards were created to give special recognition to accommodation facilities that go to special trouble to make dogs welcome.

If you see a current Five Paw certificate on the wall of an accommodation facility or a Five Paw symbol beside a listing in the book or on this site, you can be sure that you and your pet will be in extra friendly hands.

The most important qualification for Five Paw rating is that accommodation facilities make dogs and their owners feel like valued and welcome guests.


Uhuru Chalets are another self contained, pet friendly option situated on the road between Albany and the beautiful town of Denmark.

Up North, in Geraldton, there is Gully Cottage, who welcome all sized dogs and allow them inside as well.


Another option that is not far from Perth is in the Avon Valley and is called Lavendale Farmstay & Cottages.


Situated on 150 acres of gently sloping land on the banks of the Avon River, just 10 minutes from the Historical town of York, this is a picturesque area that you and your dog will enjoy..
