Tired of wasting money on tennis balls that don't last? Here is a durable alternative that your dog will love.

Ginger, my Labrador x Cocker Spaniel is obsessed with playing fetch. She is also brutal when it comes to the destruction of her (and ocassionally the kids) toys. She has the ability to crack a tennis ball and render it useless in virtually no time at all.

A friend recently recommended that I try to use one of the rope knot style ball toys. Not only would this, hopefully, provide a stronger toy but the rope can help to keep my dogs teeth clean.

I purchased the Gummi Pet Products knot ball from my local pet store. It was affordable and I liked the fact that the balls come in 3 different sizes and several bright colours. My dog could probably care less about the colours but seeing a box of rainbow coloured balls made me happy!

Initially I was skeptical that the ball would stay intact for longer than a couple of days. Ginger has a way of finding the weak spot in any toy’s design. I thought she would surely find a way to quickly unravel the knot design. But I am pleased to say that after 4 weeks of daily use the ball still looks as good as new. I did give it a bit of a wash for the second picture but mostly to remove the bits of dust, grass and pet hair.

Ginger really seems to enjoy chewing as well as chasing the ball. The rough surface has helped to keep her teeth clean while still being gently and safe on her gums and teeth. It’s easy to throw and still has a bit of bounce. The uneven surface can give it an unpredictable bounce which Ginger seems to love.

I am very happy with a durable, high quality and fun pet toy at an affordable price. This is definitely one pet product that has made both the dog and it’s owner very happy!

Overall Recommendation: 5 wagging tails!
