Family Pet News profiles an inspiring and visionary Veterinarian, Dr Nick Wonders. Dr Wonders is one of the resident Veterinarians at Vetico- an online information resource for pet owners.


Vetico, the Veterinary information community for pet owners, is a free online initiative created and run by Veterinarians, and designed to help arm Pet owners with the information necessary to make informed pet health decisions.


Vetico has been created by Vets to better control the health information currently available to pet owners online. Dr Wonders explains more, “Pet owners are constantly bombarded with misleading and dangerous advice online. During consultations, we are often made privy to some of the more concerning myths and misconceptions getting about on the internet. Therefore, Vetico was developed to provide a reputable, trusted source of online information, written by Veterinarians and freely available to educate pet owners."

The website www.vetico.com.au features hundreds of articles, news pieces, blogs, forums and videos by Vets and members of the Pet industry, covering all aspects of pet ownership. Registered members can join online disease support groups, chat with other pet owners and post questions in a veterinary moderated environment, ensuring pet owners always receive the best health advice for their pets.

“We hope that pet owners use the website to compliment the relationship they currently have with their Vet. We also hope Vets, groomers, animal behaviouralists, and other members of the Industry can feel confident in directing pet owners and clients to this trusted resource”.

Vetico is designed to educate pet owners, and is intended to compliment the services offered to pet owners by their Veterinarian. The Vets at Vetico strongly believe that a well-informed pet owner directly translates to a well-cared for pet, and the more educated a pet owner is, the more likely it is that they will make the best decisions in relation to their pet’s health and welfare.

Vetico, in partnership with Animal Welfare League Australia, WSPA, Vets Beyond Borders, Delta Society Australia and Sydney University Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Specialist Centre, advocate responsible and enjoyable pet ownership.

All of the services offered by Vetico are free for Pet owners to use.
